1. Our commitment

Simpson Soft UK Limited (“Simpson Soft UK”) is committed to conducting business lawfully, ethically and responsibly. We have zero tolerance for slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, human trafficking, unlawful child labour or other exploitative working practices within our business or supply chain.

Simpson Soft UK is not currently required to publish a statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We have nevertheless chosen to publish this statement voluntarily to explain our approach and provide transparency to clients, suppliers and other stakeholders.

This statement describes our arrangements as at 12 January 2026.

2. How our business operates

Simpson Soft UK is a UK-based language-services provider delivering translation, revision, proofreading, localisation, project management, formatting and related linguistic services.

Our workforce and supply chain principally comprise:

  • employees responsible for management, project delivery and quality assurance;

  • directly engaged professional translators, revisers and other linguists;

  • language-services and desktop-publishing specialists;

  • technology, cloud-software and communications providers; and

  • other professional and administrative service providers.

Our services are delivered primarily through digital working arrangements. We favour direct, transparent relationships with identifiable linguists and suppliers, which provide visibility over who is performing work on our behalf.

3. Responsibility and expected conduct

The Simpson Soft UK Management Team has operational responsibility for implementing this statement, overseeing supplier controls, reviewing reported concerns and monitoring the effectiveness of our arrangements.

Employees, linguists and suppliers are expected to act lawfully and ethically and to report any suspected exploitation or breach of this commitment.

Our supplier requirements prohibit unauthorised subcontracting. Linguists must perform assignments personally unless Simpson Soft UK has approved an alternative arrangement in advance. Modern-slavery and human-trafficking requirements are incorporated into our supplier onboarding and applicable contractual arrangements.

4. Where risks may arise

We consider our overall inherent risk of modern slavery to be relatively low because our services are professional, skilled, predominantly digital and generally delivered through direct relationships with identifiable individuals and organisations.

However, no supply chain is entirely without risk. The areas to which we remain alert include:

  • unauthorised or undisclosed subcontracting;

  • opaque or multi-tier supply chains;

  • exploitative workloads, payment arrangements or working practices;

  • suppliers operating in countries or sectors with elevated labour risks; and

  • insufficient visibility over the employment practices of indirect suppliers.

We consider the supplier’s location, the proposed delivery arrangements, any further supply-chain involvement and the nature of the service when determining the appropriate level of scrutiny.

5. How we manage these risks

Before engaging a linguist or other material supplier, we undertake checks proportionate to the service and the risk presented. These may include:

  • verifying identity, qualifications, accreditation and professional experience;

  • confirming who will personally perform the work;

  • reviewing the supplier’s location and delivery arrangements;

  • identifying any proposed subcontracting or further supply-chain involvement;

  • requiring compliance with applicable employment and modern-slavery legislation; and

  • requesting additional information or assurances where an increased risk is identified.

We also manage risk through direct engagement, defined scopes of work, agreed payment terms, checks that linguists have sufficient capacity for urgent assignments and restrictions on subcontracting.

Where concerns cannot be resolved satisfactorily, we reserve the right to suspend work or terminate the supplier relationship.

6. Raising concerns and responding

Staff, linguists and suppliers may raise concerns with the Management Team at hello@simpsonsoft.co.uk. Concerns will be treated seriously and sensitively. Anyone raising a genuine concern in good faith will not be subjected to retaliation.

Reported concerns will be documented, investigated and addressed promptly. Depending on the circumstances, action may include:

  • requesting further information or evidence;

  • suspending an assignment or supplier;

  • terminating a supplier relationship;

  • taking steps to protect an affected individual; or

  • reporting the matter to the appropriate authorities.

As at 12 January 2026, Simpson Soft UK has identified zero confirmed instances of modern slavery within its business or supply chain.

7. Building awareness

Staff responsible for selecting, onboarding or managing suppliers receive proportionate modern-slavery awareness guidance. This covers:

  • potential warning signs of exploitation;

  • circumstances that may present an increased risk;

  • restrictions on subcontracting;

  • internal reporting routes; and

  • the action required if a concern is identified.

Guidance and training arrangements will be reviewed as our operations, supply chain and understanding of relevant risks develop.

8. Reviewing our effectiveness and improving

We assess the operation of our controls using the following indicators:

  • completion of required checks for new material suppliers;

  • inclusion of modern-slavery requirements in applicable new supplier terms;

  • completion of awareness training by relevant staff;

  • concerns reported and investigated;

  • suppliers suspended or removed for relevant non-compliance; and

  • approved or unauthorised subcontracting arrangements identified.

Our targets are:

  • 100% completion of required due diligence for new material suppliers;

  • 100% inclusion of modern-slavery requirements in applicable new supplier terms; and

  • 100% completion of awareness training by staff responsible for supplier engagement and management.

The Management Team will review progress against these indicators and consider whether changes are required to our supplier terms, checks, records, training or risk controls. We will continue to strengthen our arrangements where changes in our activities, supply chain or identified risks make this appropriate.
