ISO 17100:2015 Translation Services

ISO 17100:2015 provides requirements for the core processes, resources, and other aspects necessary for the delivery of a quality translation service that meets applicable specifications. It specifies requirements for all aspects of the translation process directly affecting the quality and delivery of translation services. It includes provisions for translation service providers concerning the management of core processes, minimum qualification requirements for translators and revisers, the availability and management of resources, and other actions necessary for the delivery of a quality translation service.
Application of ISO 17100:2015 also provides the means by which a translation service provider (TSP) can demonstrate conformity of specified translation services to ISO 17100:2015 and the capability of its processes and resources to deliver a translation service that will meet the client's and other applicable specifications.
Applicable specifications can include those of the client, of the TSP itself, and of any relevant industry codes, best-practice guides, or legislation.
Our ISO 17100 Certified Process for Translations
Source text is evaluated for subject of expertise and assigned accordingly to an experienced native linguist for translation. CVs of the proposed resources are provided on request to the client.
Post translation, the source texts are edited/proofread by another qualified native speaker of the target language for consistency in terminology, fluency, clarity and etiquette; considering any cultural nuances.
Edited translation with track changes is then reviewed by the original translator to ensure document fidelity.
Working within the client deadline, the review process continues between the translator and proof-reader until both linguists approve the final translated text and ensure it is free of grammatical, terminological, orthographical or structural errors. Prior to client delivery, the final translation is then checked and compared with the original source document by our experienced internal QA Managers. This QA process involves meticulous checking for mechanical and visual errors.
Returned translations are complete, accurate, are of high linguistic standards with regard to clarity and style, free of grammatical, terminological, orthographical or structural errors.
