The Equality Act 2010
A new Equality Act came into force on October 1, 2010, bringing together over 116 separate pieces of legislation into one single Act. The resulting Equality Act 2010 “provides a legal framework to protect the rights of individuals and advance equality of opportunity for all.”
The Equality Act 2010 Codes of Practice details the different measures that are to be taken in order to protect individuals from unfair treatment and is focused towards promoting a fair and more equal society.
